That's the durable medicine supply company. They are the people who will send us the pump. They have the order for the pump. They kicked it to Healthy Families. Healthy families then denied the claim and kicked it to California Childrens Services. They are the ones who should pay for the pump. We are supposed to know by tomorrow.
The strips saga continues. I called in the refill for the strips on Monday the 20th. I went yesterday to pick them up. The pharmacisist did not have them, he said he couldn't fill them because it had been too soon. WTF. no really WTF. He said that we filled them on the 1st and got 300. Um no I did not. He fucking yelled at me. Oh yes he did. He raised his voice and yelled at me that "to the best of my knowledge you got 300." yeah well look asshole, I did not get 300 strips on the 1st. I'm pretty sure I would remember that.
So I guess he had been working to get them covered when they wouldn't do it before. Apparently he did get them to cover them and filled the prescription. However he us that we couldn't fill them until the 19th. So we didn't know that he had filled them. We didn't go pick them up.
I'm going to see if I can find a mail order company that will just send me out 30 day supplies every month with automatic refills. I do not need to be yelled at.

from the depths of hell on earth
That's where diabetes come from.
We are supposed to rotate shot sites; her arm, her legs, saddles, fat tires, tummy. While this isn't really a big deal in the short time, over time giving shots in one place will cause scar tissue.
Giving shots suck. Vivian doesn't like shots, I don't like giving shots. Tonight it was time for the bed time lantus. She wanted it in her arm, but her arms are hugely bruised from all the shots. She started to scream and cry and carry on. She freaked the fuck out is what happened.
You tell me. How do I encourage her to get shots in other places? Bribery isn't really an option since we are talking about more than 3 shots a day.

What, you want more strips?
I'm not sure what the issue is. I went to get some more strips. DENIED
Over use is the issue. It seems that I'm using to many strips on my 6 year old type 1 diabetic child. Seems that maybe I need to decide which testing I should do away with. So which one? The one before baseball, or after baseball? The one before dinner or the one before bed. Maybe the one when she wakes up, or before lunch. Oh I know most definitely the one in the middle of the night after I sent her to bed at 106 after having some candy and yogurt.
How much fight does one mom have?
I sent a letter to Dianne Fienstien. That's the kind of gal I am. I'm just so thoroughly disgusted by all of this. If this is happening to my child I know it's happening to others as well. What about the kids whose parents don't realize they are getting the shaft by state health ins. Or the parents who don't speak fluent English. Or the kids of the parents who just doing care. What about those kids. This is unconscienceable, insurance company child can't get the medicine she needs to keep her well.
1 bottle of diabetes test strips are $100.00. We are using roughly 300 in a month. Insulin is $250.00 a month. ketone strips, Dr. appts. I'm looking at about $1000.00 a month in just medical costs for 1 child.
