The good news is that Vivian was accepted into the CCS program (california children's services). I got a letter in the mail informing us. The bad news is that they want us to drive down to UCDavis to see a physician. I made a few phone calls. I got one really super rude woman that told me "Lots of people have to make drives to see Dr.s" I know that this is true. I still think that a 3.5 hour drive (both ways) is way to far to drive for a 1 hour Dr. appt every 3 months. So I made a few more calls with my best I'm Being Nice Voice. I got the Dr. that she has been seeing approved. Now we only have to drive 1 hour every 3 months to see a Dr. Which isn't a big deal since my husband and I both commute every single day.
On March 13 I went to the pharmacy with the new prescription for 300 strips for the new meter. Of course the Ins. denied the claim. The rejection was 'over use of medication' once again they only want to fill 100 strips in a 30 day period. So I start calling and nothing is getting done. I talk to the CCS lady and see if she can help. By Wed March 18 I still don't have any strips for the meter and I was running out. I told the lady at CCS that I needed the pre-auth and I need it to go today. I needed it in Wed so it could be filled by Friday so that I would have strips for the weekend. Of course that didn't happen.
March 19 I did fill the scrip for 100. I had to have them, they are $100.00 a bottle. I can not afford that, doesn't matter how I finagle there is no way I could do it. Today I went to fill the rest of the 300, and was denied. They only want to fill 100 in a 30 day period. They want to know why and how I have used close to 100 strips between the 19th - 30th.
pardon me while I swear.
Fucking Asshole Mother Fuckers.
Fill my kids fucking strips you assholes.

3 months
We've made it 3 months since diagnosis. I've heard this is the first hump to get over. On Saturday I went to fill Vivian's test strips for her BGM. The insurance denied the refill. Apparently at some point in the past 30 days they decided not to cover strips for the acuvue aviva. Did they let us know about this change? Well of course not. So on Monday I called the nurse at the Endo office and got new meters. She's now using a Bayer Contour meter, it works fine, making the switch is no big deal. Sure would have been nice for the ins. to let us know a month ago.
Next week is spring break for me. My break doesn't match up with the kids break. It'll be nice to have a week off. I'm tired, feeling a little burned out.

Another mid term
Well I got a 90 on the stats mid-term. I was rather annoyed really. That exam took me 20 minutes, maybe if I'd taken 30 I could have got 100. I knew something was amiss because that 50 minute exam took me 20 minutes, I was one of the 1st people to leave the room. As others have pointed out 90 is still an A.
Tomorrow I have a forestry mid-term. I have no feeling either way about it. Could be good, could be bad, guess I'll see when I get there.
I sent away to all the pump makers for information. So far I have received info from cozmore and medtronic. Still waiting on minimed, animus, and I think 1 other.
